PaceMap

PaceMap plans running, cycling and hiking routes on real paths. It routes over the OpenStreetMap path network rather than drawing straight lines, so a planned distance is a distance you can actually run, ride or walk.

What the planner does

Seven activities

Each one picks different ways: Road Running prefers asphalt, Trail Running prefers paths and forest tracks, Road Bike takes paved roads, Trail Bike takes singletrack, Bike Commuting puts cycleways first and quiet streets last, Hike follows footpaths, and Manual does no routing at all.

Routes people have published

The planner itself is a map you draw on, so it needs JavaScript. The routes people have shared do not — each is a plain page with its distance, climb and profile: browse public routes.

Drawing, routing, distance and elevation work without an account. Saving a route, the heatmap and GPX export need one.
